Watercolour “Escape”, 2012 by Anna Dart

"Escape" is one of the earliest and most renown watercolor paintings by the modern female artist Anna Dart. It conveys a profound longing for freedom, intertwined with emotions of both sadness and happiness.

The young woman is depicted with her back turned, looking through the window. The painting evokes a sense of movement and sound, like the sound of a train and the movement of the clothes of the young woman as it rub against the seat. The sun light is depicted as a delicate warmth and can be perceived in the painting through the use of delicate shinning colors. Everything is real here.

This captivating watercolour by Anna Dart is a reminder of our personal aspirations and dreams and how the circustances sometimes hold us back.

Curiously the painting was collected in the USA, in Alaska; it crossed the ocean to reach the new home. We are only left with this image.

𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧: Watermarks are present on the image for protection. Once purchased, the collector will receive the artwork without these marks.
